The Context

Responding to a Protracted Crisis

South Sudan faces a protracted humanitarian crisis driven by decades of conflict, political instability, and frequent climate-related disasters — flooding and drought. This has resulted in mass displacement, with millions displaced or having fled to neighboring countries, many returning to areas with minimal basic services.

Vulnerable groups — women, children, youth, the elderly, and persons with disabilities — face disproportionate challenges due to systemic discrimination, gender inequality, and negative societal attitudes. NAVCA exists to bridge this gap.
